Canada extends emergency wage-subsidy program

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the federal government will do whatever it can to see those who have lost their employment or experienced a drop in income recoup those losses.

Canian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says federal government will do whatever it can to see those who have lost ir employment or experienced a drop in income recoup those losses.

He has anunced federal government's emergency w-subsidy program will be extended beyond June, as new Statistics Cana data shows Canian ecomy lost almost two-million jobs last month.

program covers 75 per cent of worker pay up to $847 a week to try to help employers keep employees on job in face of steep declines in revenue due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Trudeau says more details on extension will come next week.
