New Delhi: New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh confronted protesters outside the Canadian Parliament on Monday, September 16, after being verbally attacked. The confrontation occurred when someone in the crowd called him a "corrupted bas****."

A video shared on X (formerly Twitter) captured the moment, showing at least two protesters trailing Singh in a parking lot. One of the protesters questioned Singh about whether he would support a motion of non-confidence against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government.

As Singh continued to walk, someone in the group insulted him, prompting Singh to turn back toward the protesters. Clearly agitated, Singh pointed at them, repeatedly asking, "Who said it?"

When the men denied making the comment, Singh accused one of them of being a "coward" for not voicing his criticism directly to his face.

As he walked away, one protester was heard saying, "With that aggression, is that why you're choosing war with Russia?"

Who is Canadian MP Jagmeet Singh?

Indian-origin Canadian Member of Parliament (MP) Jagmeet Singh has garnered attention for his consistent support of Khalistani separatist movements in Canada. Amid ongoing tensions between India and Canada, Singh has vowed to seek justice for pro-Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, further straining diplomatic ties between the two nations.

As the leader of Canada's New Democratic Party (NDP), Jagmeet Singh has a history of aligning with Khalistani separatist elements. He has expressed open support for individuals like Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh and Hardeep Singh Nijjar, both of whom are associated with pro-Khalistan activities.

Born on January 2, 1979, to Harmeet Kaur and Jagtaran Dhaliwal, Jagmeet Singh has deep roots in India. Prior to his political career, Singh worked as a criminal defense lawyer in the Greater Toronto Area. His entry into politics began in 2011 when he ran as an NDP candidate in the Ontario provincial election and won. Singh's political success continued with another victory in the 2014 Ontario provincial polls, and he eventually rose to prominence as a leading figure within the NDP.
