Caravan protest against Mexico president

Demonstrators travelling in vehicles as part of a 'caravan' protested on Sunday in Mexico City against the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Demonstrators travelling in vehicles as part of a 'caravan' protested on Sunday in Mexico City against government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

At centre of discontent is lack of security and ecomic devastation worsened by COVID-19 pandemic, which is pushing more Mexicans into poverty.

Thousands of vehicles beeped ir horns as y drove down Reforma Avenue to centre of city demanding Obrador's resignation.

Demonstrators coordinated protest through social media networks and have dubbed mselves: "FRENA" or National Front Against AMLO.

demonstrators also called for better security in country, saying y weren't feel safe when going out.

y also said ecomy was suffering following three months of stay at home measures implemented by government because of COVID-19 outbreak.

More than 212,000 people have tested positive for virus in Mexico with at least 26,000 deaths, according to government figures.
