Retail giant Carrefour has opened the first cashier-less store in Dubai. People will require the store's smartphone application to shop in the retail outlet

Retail giant Carrefour opened Middle East's first cashier-less store in Dubai on Monday, 6 September. Carrefour City+ in Mall of Emirates in Dubai is a convenience store, filled with all daily need items, but only difference is, it does t have a cashier who will do billing of purchased items for customers.

In order to buy products, shoppers need t wait in long queues. people who have installed store's smartphone application are allowed inside store. people can simply pick items y need and y can walk out of store with shopped items. ceiling of Carrefour City+ store has been equipped with about 100 small surveillance cameras that capture movement of shoppers and shelves of store have been fitted with sensors, according to AP. This is first cashier-less store in Middle East.
To reduce labour costs and eliminate long queues of people who need to wait for billing of ir items, this new way of shopping that involves cashier-free stores has been started by major retailers across globe. Amazon's cashier-less 'Amazon Go' stores are alrey functional in United States.

Hani Weiss, CEO of retail at Majid Al Futtaim, franchise that operates Carrefour in Middle East, told AP, "This is how future will look," ding, "We do believe in physical stores in future. However, we believe experience will change". Weiss has also informed that customers have to allow Carrefour to collect ir information which company will t share.
