In a sharp reversal, China has anunced a series of measures rolling back some of most draconian anti-COVID-19 restrictions.

Wednesday anuncement includes limiting scale of lockdown to individual apartment floors and buildings, rar than entire districts and neighborhoods.

People who test positive for virus will be able to isolate at home rar than in overcrowded and unsanitary field hospitals, and schools where re have been outbreaks must return to in-class teaching.

anuncement follows recent street protests in several cities over strict “zero-COVID” policy w entering its fourth year, which has been blamed for upending ordinary life, travel and employment while dealing a harsh blow to national ecomy.

China has sought to maintain hardline policy while keeping world's second-largest ecomy humming, but public frustration with restrictions appears to have finally swayed opinion of officials who had championed zero-COVID as superior to approach of foreign nations that have opened up in hopes of learning to live with virus.
