China’s ambassador to the UK in a press conference held on November 18 has asked all foreign countries including the United States and the United Kingdom to refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of Hong Kong. The comments come while the protesters continue to fight the Hong Kong police.

China ambassador has asked Western Nations to stop interfering

The ambassador said in the conference pointing to the Western Nations that they have extended their support to the protesters who are organising the violent mass demonstrations against the government. He further added that the US House of representatives is using the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act to strengthen their support and interfere in the matters of Hong Kong which rather be taken care of by China. He said that the UK Government and the foreign officials of the House of Commons have criticised China and published reports that have made Hong Kong as innocent. According to him, the situation gets even worse if the British officials plan to give an award to the propagandist for Hong Kong protest seeking independence.

Unrest in Hong Kong

The riot police in Hong Kong batted with the pro-democracy protesters at different varsity campuses and brought to a halt the city's upscale business hub on November 12. It is considered to be one of the most violent phases of unrest seen in more than five months of widespread protests. The recent violence sparked since Monday when a police officer shot a protester on Monday and a man was set on fire in the neighbouring district. The universities present in the city emerged as battlefields throughout Tuesday, November 12 with sustained clashes at major campuses for the first time. The main violence erupted from the Chinese University of Hong Kong where the usual grounds were turned into a battlefield.
