China bans major sporting events fearing second wave of coronavirus

A letter dispatched to sporting bodies across China by the National bureau revealed that Xi Jinping’s government had issued strict guidelines to avoid assembly.

China has reportedly banned prominent sporting and or events that might attract huge assembly of crowd until furr tice over fears about second wave of pandemic outbreak within country, China’s National Sports Bureau told state press. directive was issued late on April 1, which prohibited public garing of any nature to suppress new cases of infections in People’s Republic mostly imported by foreign nationals.

As many as 877,574 confirmed cases of vel coronavirus have emerged worldwide, and over 43,569 have been declared de due to coronavirus according to a tally. China, however, has been able to contain virus bringing infection in mainland to zero, as per media reports. It anunced a significant ban on foreign nationals entering country and sealed its borders to or nations. According to statement issued to sporting bodies across country, events such as marathons and sports were directed to be cancelled with immediate effect to curb rebound of domestic infections in mainland.
