Coronavirus in China: As death toll rises, 2 provinces, 3 cities ask public to wear masks

Though authorities have issued orders to wear masks, several cities including Shanghai, which reported first death due to coronavirus, are facing mask short.
As death toll has risen to 56, China has started taking drastic measures to contain spre of disease. Earlier today, China anunced a temporary ban on tre of all wild animals. In a joint directive from three ncies including Ministry of Agriculture, authorities ordered that raising, transporting or selling all wild animal species has been banned with immediate effect until national epidemic situation is over.

Chinese state media reported that eastern Shandong province will suspend long-distance buses entering region after similar anuncements were me Tianjin, Beijing, and historic Xi’an. China has alrey put two of its cities under lockdown to contain spre of disease. After public transport was restricted in Wuhan, centre of vel coronavirus (CoV) outbreak, Huanggang is also being put under lockdown to rein in spre of pneumonia.

According to China’s National Health Commission, death toll due to coronavirus has shot up to 56 and around 2,000 people have been infected across country. health officials have confirmed at least 688 new cases of coronavirus as 15 more people have died.

Indian nationals in China
Indian embassy in Beijing has issued a travel visory for people visiting India from China. As per latest update, embassy is continuing to maintain close contact with Indian nationals in Wuhan city and elsewhere in Hubei. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson informed that Indian Embassy has opened three hotlines to respond to concerns of those affected by this virus.
