Both under fire from US, China and WHO rally together after Wuhan death toll spiked by 50%

Chinese Foreign Minister on Saturday said that at the time the world is fighting COVID-19 pandemic, Chinese govt and its people extend their support to WHO

Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday said that at critical moment when world is combating Coronavirus pandemic, Chinese government and people firmly support World Health Organization (WHO) and that to support WHO and its director-general is to safeguard philosophy and principle of multilateralism.

'Chinese govt supports WHO'

He me remarks when holding a phone conversation with WHO Director-General Tedros ham Ghebreyesus, ting that support is also an act to secure United Nations' status and role and maintain international solidarity in face of disease.

China's support to WHO comes at a time when United States of America has been openly criticizing China and WHO for its handling of coronavirus pandemic. This is also just a day after China hiked Coronavirus death-toll from epicentre Wuhan.

America warns China of consequences

Donald Trump on Saturday warned China that it should face consequences if it was "kwingly responsible" for spre of vel coronavirus, upping ante on Beijing over its handling of global pandemic. Trump, who has expressed disappointment over China's handling of dely disease, alleged n-transparency and initial n-cooperation from Beijing with Washington on dealing with crisis.

"If y were kwingly responsible, yeah, n re should be consequences. You're talking about, you kw, potentially lives like body's seen since 1917," he told reporters at a White House news conference. Trump said his relationship with China was very good till time dely COVID-19 swept across world.

Trump on Wednesday halted US funding to WHO after alleging mismanaging coronavirus crisis. Trump has blamed WHO's "very much sided" approach to China on Coronavirus crisis, asserting that many people are unhappy with global health ncy and feel that "it's been very unfair".

Trump said, "Today I am instructing my ministration to halt funding of WHO while review is conducted is assessing WHO's role in severely mismanaging and covering up spre of Coronavirus."
