Chinese man sentenced to death after stabbing officials at coronavirus checkpoint
A Chinese man was sentenced to death by a court for fatally stabbing two officials at a checkpoint that was set up to control the spread of the coronavirus.

A man was sentenced to death by a Chinese court for fatally stabbing two officials at a checkpoint. As per reports, checkpoint was set up to control spre of coronavirus outbreak. sentence was handed down by court on March 1 to 23-year-old man.
'Extremely vicious' attack
According to reports, incident occurred on February 6 when Ma Jianguo was driving a minivan through a checkpoint at Luo Meng vill in Honghe, southwestern Yunnan province. After being stopped at checkpoint, Ma was reportedly uncooperative with checkpoint officials.

During incident, Ma's fellow passengers began to remove blocke according to court. Ma n stabbed official, a poverty alleviation cre in chest and in abdomen with a knife he was carrying. Ma n stabbed ar official when he came to first victim's aid. Both officials died from ir wounds. As per reports, court claimed that while Ma h voluntarily surrendered and truthfully confessed to stabbing, but crime was extremely vicious.
