Chinese state media takes down Hong Kong curfew tweet, cites "insufficient information"
Chinese state media deleted a tweet claiming the Hong Kong govt was expected to announce a weekend curfew because the sourcing was "not sufficient".

A Chinese state media reportedly deleted a tweet saying that Hong Kong government was expected to anunce a weekend curfew but later editor of media outlet claimed that re wasn't sufficient information to back report. Hong Kong Police spokesperson furr said that he was t in a position to comment on rumours of a curfew because decision rested with territory's chief executive, Carrie Lam. However, he ded that any new measure that could help police to achieve goal of restoring public safety and order in Hong Kong is welcomed.
"I just checked how information was obtained. My conclusion is that information is t sufficient to support this exclusive news," Hu tweeted after original tweet was deleted.
anti-government protestors in Hong Kong have brought city to a standstill. protestors have set ablaze vehicles and buildings, pelted petrol bombs at police stations and trains and damd shopping malls over last week in some of worst instances of violence seen in more than five months of turmoil.

Protesters block ros
masked protestors and varsity students continued to block important ros which include entrance to Cross-Harbour Tunnel that connects Hong Kong island with Kowloon area and a highway between Kowloon and rural New Territories. Riot police fired tear gas near tunnel early on Thursday to disperse protestors. According to international media reports, it impacted t just university but also general public. Scores of students barriced mselves inside campuses of several universities, with a makeshift shield to cover mselves up, blocking entrances and occupying surrounding ros by bricks, petrol bombs, and or makeshift weapons as y expected possible clashes with police. commuters were stranded at Metro stations after a few rail services were suspended and 15 stations were shut down.

Police actions condemned
chaotic scenes of explosion, gun fires, smoke plumes left scores of students injured. police said protestors hurled debris and petrol bombs in a nearby highway linking rrn New Territories with Kowloon, bringing traffic to a halt in a haze of tear gas smoke. lawmakers of city condemned actions of police and said that continuous firing of tear gas has turned university campus into a battlefield. Tensions initially escalated due to death of a young man who fell from a multi-story car parking during clashes with police.
