Ukraine at UNSC: It is now upto experts to investigate the cause of plane crash

Ukraine delivered a statement on January 9, 2020, at an open debate of the United Nations Security Council in New York regarding the recent plane crash.

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Sergiy Kyslytsya, delivered a statement on January 9, 2020, at an open debate of United Nations Security Council in New York regarding recent crash of a Ukrainian commercial jet. statement by Kyslytsya was delivered on behalf of four countries- Cana, Germany, Sweden and Ukraine.

Statement to Security Council

statement delivered by Kyslytsya in regards to recent plane crash thanked all those present for ir words of support for families and loved ones of  victims of tragic crash. 176 people aboard flight who lost ir lives were citizens of Iran, Cana, Ukraine, Sweden, Afghanistan, Germany and United Kingdom.

Kyslytsya also ded that circumstances of crash are unclear and reason why plane went down is unkwn. He said that y will w be relying on experts to determine cause of crash and in order to do this, experts needed unconditional support from concerned authorities that are involved in incident.

On January 8, a Ukrainian aircraft with at least 176 people aboard crashed just after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport, according to Iranian media reports. As per reports, all 176 passengers on board PS752 airliner have died. A spokesperson for Iran's Civil Aviation Organisation, Reza Jafarzeh told media that rescue teams were immediately sent to spot near airport where aircraft belonging to Ukraine International Airlines crashed but y could t assist since place was ablaze.

According to media reports citing Ali Khashani, a senior public relations official at airport, plane was heing towards Kiev and h 167 passengers and nine crew on board. Boeing 737 took off early Wednesday morning. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a Facebook post that he would cancel rest of his trip to Oman and would return to Kiev due to crash. “My sincere condolences to relatives and friends of all passengers and crew,” Zelenskiy said.
