Climate protesters move rallies online in wake of Coronavirus outbreak
Climate change protests across the world are moving online in order to prevent coronavirus spread. Climate change groups are organising webinars amid the crisis

With Coronavirus outbreak forcing schools and universities to go online, climate change protesters are also following cue and are conducting ir protests on various digital platforms. Fridays for Future, a popular group founded by teen climate change activist Greta Thunberg, has launched a series of protests to be held online.

Greta Thunberg has anunced that webinars will take place on Friday online where many "experts and interesting people" will educate young people about climate change crisis. decision to conduct webinars was taken in wake of coronavirus outbreak as many countries around world have anunced lockdowns and banned public garings to prevent spre of virus.

Greta Thunberg held a rally about climate change two weeks ago in Brussels but since virus cases escalated in region rallies h to be called off. Fridays for Future n moved its weekly school strikes online under hashtag #ClimateStrikeOnline.

Coronavirus outbreak
COVID-19 has claimed more than 11,400 lives across world and has infected nearly 2,76,000 people globally since it first broke out in December 2019. China is most affected country in world as experts believe that virus originated from a seafood market in Wuhan city, epicentre of disease, where animals were reportedly being tred illegally.
Italy, Iran, and Spain are most affected countries outside mainland China, where, as of March 20 combined death toll stands at 6,558. Italy has w surpassed China to record most number of deaths in world due to virus outbreak, while Iran and Spain both crossed 1,000 mark.
