COVID-19 therapeutical treatments could be ‘bridge’ to vaccine, says Dr Fauci

Antibody-based medications, other blood products from patients who have recovered from COVID-19, and antivirals are being investigated as early treatments

On September 26, director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that moclonal antibodies from recovered patients and or antiviral treatment might serve as a “bridge” to combat coronavirus up until arrival of vaccine. rapeutical treatments such as Gile Sciences Inc.’s remdesivir, steroid dexamethasone, and or antibody-based medical treatment are being investigated for use, Dr. Fauci said in an interview with American Medical Association. focus on treatment of early infection and, or prevention of infection is bridge to vaccine, he said.
