On same day as Russia registered world's first vaccine to battle Coronavirus, a study has confirmed that COVID-19 vaccine might t prove effective on obese people. study commissioned by researchers in United States has stated that ramifications of COVID-19 worsen in people with high Body Mass Index (BMI). Analyzing BMI of 812 patients suffering from virus, including recovered cases, study found 82% who died were obese.

In ir final report, researchers concluded that obese people were more vulnerable to Coronavirus. y furr said obesity can le to severe inflammation by pushing body’s immune responses. This can make body weaker in fight against virus.

“It is t a question of t working, it is more of a question of efficacy,” said Dr Ch Petit, an assistant professor at University of Alabama at Birmingham. “In or words, vaccine could work but it may t be as effective,” he ded. Ar report by Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also reiterated that obesity-related conditions seem to worsen effect of COVID-19.
Russia anunces first vaccine
During a meeting via video link on Tuesday, President Vlimir Putin anunced on August 11 that health ministry has approved world’s first coronavirus vaccine. world’s first clinically approved vaccine against vel coronavirus has been manufactured by Gamaleya Research Institute in collaboration with Russian Health Ministry. Putin said that his daughter has alrey received vaccination, ding that she h a mild temperature after she was vaccinated but it quickly went away. Russia has named its new COVID-19 vaccine after Sputnik, first artificial Earth satellite launched by erstwhile Soviet Union on October 4, 1957.
