he of World Health Organization’s (WHO) team of international experts on Tuesday said that its investigation in Wuhan to find origins of vel coronavirus h uncovered new information but h t changed picture of outbreak. Peter Ben Embarek, a Swiss food safety scientist who les WHO team of international experts visiting Wuhan, said in a press briefing that coronavirus is 'unlikely' to have leaked from a Chinese lab. He furr ded that it is more likely to have jumped to humans from an animal.
After crucial investigatory visit to China's city, Wuhan, where coronavirus case was first reported in December 2019, Embarek assessed 'most likely' pathway through an intermediary host species. In press briefing, he aslo said that work to identify origins of virus "points to a natural reservoir in bats", but it is "unlikely that y were in Wuhan". Since Wuhan Insitute of Virology has collected extensive virus samples, it budded a conspiracy ory that it might have caused original outbreak by leaking virus into community nearby. China has repeatedly denied all ories of virus emerging from elsewhere but WHO team is still probing how disease first ended up among humans.

“Our initial findings suggest that introduction through an intermediary host species is most likely pathway and one that will require more studies and more specific, targeted research,” Embarek said.
“However, findings suggest that laboratory incidents hyposis is extremely unlikely to explain introduction of virus to human population,” Embarek said before indicating that transmission through tre-in frozen products could have also paved way for disease to be transmitted into humans.

‘Evidence of wide circulation’ in China
Embarek h also said that y have found "evidence of wide circulation" of infection clusters, t just in Huanan seafood market, but "virus also circulated outside market". WHO's mission visiting China to investigate origins of vel coronavirus h said that animal source of virus is "t yet identified". y mentioned that and re is " indication" of COVID-19 in Wuhan before December 2019, when it was first reported.
“We have found evidence of wide circulation in December 2019, t just infection clusters in Huanan seafood market, but virus also circulated outside market”, Peter Ben Embarek, a Swiss food safety scientist who les WHO team.
