Washington D.C.: A Delta flight with 277 passengers on board heading from Detroit to Amsterdam was forced to make an unscheduled landing in New York's JFK airport after passengers were reportedly served contaminated food onboard.
The Delta flight 136, an Airbus A330 jet, had 277 passengers on board when it departed from Detroit, Michigan, just before 11pm on Tuesday
According to a Delta Airlines spokesperson, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning when it was discovered that a portion of the in-flight meals had been spoiled.

Upon landing, medical crews were reportedly on standby to treat passengers and crew members suffering from food poisoning after having been contaminated in-flight.
Delta has apologised for the inconvenience and delay caused to passengers. The airline is currently investigating how the incident occurred.
