Disney bans Netflix Ads in lieu of new streaming service Disney+

Disney has announced that it will not air Netflix advertisements anymore which comes ahead of the network progressing with its new streaming service Disney+

Disney has recently anunced that it will t air Netflix vertisements anymore. This comes ahe of network progressing with its new streaming service, furr tightening competition between two entertainment networks. According to international media, Disney will still air s on ir channel ESPN. As Netflix does t host any live sports, it is t being seen as a direct competitor. However, y will longer run on ABC and Freeform. According to  quarterly financial reports, Netflix which has become one of entertainment industry’s biggest buyers has spent over $1.8 billion in 2018 and is on run to top that this year.

Debut of new streaming channel 

Disney’s decision to ban Netflix s comes a month before release of  new streaming service, Disney+.  streaming service is to charge $6.99 per month which will feature original series along with major Disney classics. It will also include major franchises like 'Star Wars' and ' Simpsons' on channel. According to industry experts, Netflix which has more than 150 customers globally will have to face a strong competitor in Disney. This move comes ahe of media and entertainment companies assessing ir competitors in changing times. However, most TV networks h issue with Netflix airing ir s on channel. Although w with companies launching ir own streaming services, lines seem to be strict with companies focussing on ir primary goals.

It usually is t unnatural for TV networks to refuse to showcase vertisements for rival companies. However, brocast networks have run s for Netflix and Amazon Prime for years w. CEO Bob Iger is said to consider launch of Disney+ one of biggest moves of his 15-year-old career with Disney. Although it is a remarkable new initiative, this comes at a time when consumers are overburdened with choices like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar, and Voot.
