Hong Kong turmoil

Hong Kong has been reeling under frequent protests since 2019 over Chinese aggression jeopardising automy of city, its freedom and human rights, followed by introduction and pass of new security law which as touted by world is sure to undermine 'one country two systems' principle, eventually leading to decimation of Hong Kong's automy stated under Si-British joint declaration of 1997.

This unilateral decision by Chinese communist regime has deeply concerned International community as US, UK, Canada and Australia opposed decision of China to impose security law in Hong Kong.

In a joint statement, four countries had said that direct imposition of national security legislation on Hong Kong by Beijing authorities, rar than through Hong Kong's own institutions as provided for under Article 23 of Basic Law, "would curtail Hong Kong people's liberties, and in doing so, dramatically erode Hong Kong's automy and system that made it so prosperous".
