Donald Trump Picks Anti-Vaccine Activist Robert F Kennedy Jr as Health Secretary

Washington: President-elect Donald Trump announced on Thursday that Robert F Kennedy Jr will be next Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) of United States, who once led anti-vaccine campaign for covid-19 virus during pandemic. 

"I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS)," Trump said in a post on X.

Kennedy Jr is nephew of 35th President of US, John F Kennedy. Robert is one of most prominent anti-vaccine activists in world, and has very strongly backed now-debunked claim of vaccines causing autism and or health issues.

He is founder of Waterkeeper Alliance -- world's largest clean water vocacy group -- and served as its longtime chairman and attorney.

"For too long, Americans have been crushed by industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health," post mentioned.

Trump highlighted that Safety and Health of all Americans is most important role of any ministration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food ditives that have contributed to overwhelming Health Crisis in this country.

"Kennedy will restore se Agencies to tritions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!," he ded.

In a post on X, Kennedy Jr thanked Trump for his leership and courage and outlined his commitment to vancing his vision to make America healthy again.

"Thank you @realDonaldTrump for your leership and courage. I'm committed to vancing your vision to Make America Healthy Again. We have a generational opportunity to bring toger greatest minds in science, medicine, industry, and government to put an end to chronic disease epidemic," Kennedy Jr said.

"I look forward to working with more than 80,000 employees at HHS to free agencies from smoring cloud of corporate capture so y can pursue ir mission to make Americans once again healthiest people on Earth," he said.

"Toger we will clean up corruption, stop revolving door between industry and government, and return our health agencies to ir rich trition of gold-standard, evidence-based science. I will provide Americans with transparency and access to all data so y can make informed choices for mselves and ir families. My commitment to American people is to be an honest public servant. Let's go!," he ded.

Trump won a second term as President of United States after securing 295 electoral votes in 2024 presidential election, defeating Democratic rival, Kamala Harris , who garnered 226 votes. This makes Trump first US president since 1892 to return to office after losing a previous election.

Trump's return to White House marks only second time in US history that a president has served two non-consecutive terms. first such instance was Grover Cleveland, who served as president in 1884 and 1892. Trump h earlier served as US President from 2016 to 2020.
