COVID-19: Donald Trump says 'working very hard' to help New York, slams 'fake news'

Donald Trump has claimed on March 25 that he is “working very hard” to help the New York City and State and is currently in talks with both governor, mayor.

US President Donald Trump has claimed on March 25 that he is “working very hard” to help New York City and State and is currently in communication with both mayor and goverr. Amid unprecedented outbreak of dely coronavirus, Trump said that he is trying to provide all states with sufficient resources to deal with pandemic and said he allocated four medical centres as well as hospitals. US President furr targetted media for saying that White House is t helping New York because of Trump’s unlikeliness towards New York Goverr Andrew Cuomo, inste, he said: “I do”.

US can be ‘new epicentre’ of COVID-19

Trump comments came as World Health Organisation has said on March 25 that United States has potential to become new epicentre of dely coronavirus outbreak due to a “very large acceleration in infections” in country. While life in China, where COVID-19 h originated in December 2019 is slowly coming back to rmalcy, fatal COVID-19 has spre to over 190 countries and US has reported 54,881 confirmed cases of virus and at least 782 fatalities.

WHO spokesperson Margaret Harris has told reporters that over past 24 hours, 85 per cent of new cases worldwide were from Europe and US and out of those, at least 40 per cent were just from US.  However, WHO spokesperson also lauded improvements me in country with more intensified testing among or efforts to isolate sick and trace ir immediate contacts exposed to fatal COVID-19.

When she was furr asked if US can become new epicentre, Harris replied that United Nations health ncy is w “seeing a very large acceleration in cases in US. So it does have that potential. We cant say that is case yet but it does have that potential”.

She ded that US has a “very large outbreak and an outbreak that is increasing in intensity”.
