Police raided warehouses across Turkey on Wednesday, after the deaths of dozens of people in less than a week from suspected alcohol poisoning, according to the country's state-run news agency.
Turkey's Anadolu Agency says 45 people nationwide were possibly fatally poisoned over the past six days after consuming bootleg methyl alcohol.
Thirty suspects have been arrested in police raids in two of Turkey's largest cities, Istanbul and Izmir, said Anadolu.
Over 16-thousand litres of ethyl alcohol and nearly 3,000 bottles of bootleg liquor were confiscated, according to police statistics quoted by Anadolu.
