E-cigarette can be detrimental to health, leading to respiratory diseases like Asthma, revealed a new study published in Scientific Reports on Saturday.

E-cigarettes can be detrimental to health, leing to respiratory diseases like Asthma, revealed a new study published in Scientific Reports. It stated that flavoured e-cigarettes, even without nicotine, can be harmful to health. According to le author, Dr. Chapman, University of Techlogy, Sydney, this study is important for those who are especially vulnerable to effects of smoking. This mainly relates to people with respiratory diseases. He furr stated that even though majority of e-cigarette smokers use flavoured liquids inste of nicotine, preservatives in flavoured liquid can be toxic when inhaled. 

What research says

According to Chapman, research suggested that flavours in e-cigarettes have exact effects on features of Asthma. It also revealed that t all favoured e-cigarettes will have same consequences on health of lungs. Decoding flavours, study suggested that flavour 'Black Licorice' exaggerates airway inflammation. On or hand, flavour 'Cinnacide' suppresses airway inflammation and increases airway sensitivity. Ar flavour 'Banana Pudding' exaggerates level of tissue scarring.

research, however, did t analyze what liquids contained. But, some researches that were conducted earlier suggest that flavours categorized as 'buttery/creamy' and 'cinnamon', which likely include Banana Pudding and Cinnacide, are harmful to health. researchers have urged policymakers to restrict use and sale of e-cigarettes.

Ban on E-cigarettes

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while dressing a briefing on September 18 anunced a total ban on e-cigarettes in India.  production, manufacturing, sale, import-export and vertising among or things of e-cigarettes will be banned in country, she stated. government h released an ordinance on ban on e-cigarettes. According to official document, government of India prohibits “production, manufacture, import, export, transport, sale, distribution, stor and vertisements of electronic cigarettes in interest of public health and protect people from harm and for matters connected rewith or incidental reto.”
