Elephants dress up as Santa Claus, present gift to schoolchildren in Thailand

As Christmas is around corner, elephants dressed as Santa presented gifts to schoolchildren in Thailand. rare act happened as a part of years-long trition followed by Jirasartwitthaya School in Ayutthaya, rth of Bangkok.  school has h this unique trition for last 15 years, as reported by international media. Every year, during Christmas celebration, Santa elephants deliver gifts and show off tricks to children in school.

Lardthongtare Meepan, owner of Ayuttahaya Elephant Palace which is an elephant camp in Thailand said that this year four elephants, dressed in festive attire along with ir mahouts visited school. He also ded that highlight of event is t elephants handing presents to kids but both species making Christmas tree toger. According to local news media,  event is a yearly highlight for students at Jirasartwitthaya School in Thailand which is a predominantly Buddhist country. Last year too, five elephants visited school to hand out stuffed toys and gifts. This year, tuskers also put up dance show and performed tricks for excited children.

Meanwhile, in ar part of Thailand, a five-star hotel in Phuket has reportedly showcased baby elephants and also me m dance for its customers.  incident was heavily criticized by animal activists and social workers throughout world. In a photo that has surfaced online, a baby elephant was used to entertain guests during a pool party. Mövenpick Bangtao Beach in Phuket was full of guests and y were trying to pet elephant. or ims which surfaced online showed elephant with a collar and a sheet on its back, while a woman holding some balloons stroked animal. re were also or guests who looked at calf as it pared around edge of swimming pool.
