EU leaders to set new emissions reduction target for 2030 by December
During a summit of the EU, leaders decided to submit an updated NDC as Commission has decided to discuss the issue during their upcoming meeting in December.

During a summit of European Union on October 15, leers discussed epidemiological situation, relations with United Kingdom and climate change. Regarding climate change, EU decided to increase its ambition for coming dece in order to meet ir objective of climate neutrality by year 2050. re was a discussion on ‘Stepping up Europe’s 2030 climate ambition’, and EU's executive, European Commission said that re is a need to cut emissions by 55 per cent by year 2030.
EU members come toger to work on climate
Leers urged all or parties to submit an updated nationally determined contribution (NDC) and also underline importance of ‘strong coordinated action through active European climate diplomacy’. This was done because Commission has decided to furr discuss issue during its meeting in December where a new emissions reduction target for 2030 will be set and also where EU will submit its updated NDC to United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. EU leers believe that an updated gold should be given collectively in most ‘cost-effective manner’.

According to reports by consilium.europa.eu, “all relevant EU legislation and policies need to contribute to new 2030 target and to fulfilment of climate neutrality objective, while respecting a level playing field and preventing carbon leak”. All member states are required to collectively participate in effort that is being me and also keep in mind national circumstances and considerations of ‘fairness and solidarity’. Leers also urged Commission to conduct ‘in-depth consultations’ with members so that y are able to analyze situation in a better manner.

Recently, EU came up with a major building revation project with aim of cutting energy costs and polluting emissions and providing a big boost to construction industry at same time. Ursula von der Leyen, EU Commission President said that 27-nation bloc "must speed up" pace of revations if it is to meet climate change targets. She ded, “Our buildings are responsible for 40% of our energy consumption”.
