A set of satellite ims published by European ncy (ESA) on Septemeber 9 portray a rapid increase in air pollution level in Amazon forest following massive fires over last month. published maps show soaring quantities of carbon moxide and or pollutants which have been produced as a result of forest fire. carbon emission from fire will cause a potential threat on global climate and health, said ncy. As per data from Brazil's National Institute for Research, number of fires in Brazil has increased by 45 percent than 2018 i.e. it has surpassed 100,000 in 2019.

health threats
Pollutants wher in form of small particles or gases le to an increase in cardiovascular conditions and lung problems, especially among young children and elderly. forest fires are producing particles as well as hazardous gases that are straight away released into atmosphere, said Renata Libonati, a professor in department of meteorology at Rio de Janeiro Federal University. same is happening in Brazil's Rondonia. Respiratory problems are getting rampant with children and elderly. Cosme e Damia Children's hospital has recorded patients with aforementioned ailments which has been increasing sharply. Moreover, particulate matter also poses a threat to cities that are t immediately close as winds often transfer se to faraway places. ded problem to scenario is lack of rains. H re been rain, fires could have been contained so would have been pollutants. current dry season in Amazon is making things worse, Libonati ded.
" impact of fires goes far beyond where forests are burning," said Libonati.

Brazilian Government takes measures
Last week, Brazilian Health Ministry has tified a list of recommendations for those living by forest. ministry said that people should stay away from areas where fires have spre, wear masks to protect mselves from poisous gases and favor air conditioning in kindergartens, schools, and hospitals. Moreover, a team of 11 Israeli firefighters was deployed by Bolsonaro Government in state of Rondonia where fires have spre most to combat rising flames. Amazon fires keep spreing despite 60-day ban on land clearing burning anunced last month by President Bolsonaro.
