Marakkar: Arabikalinte Simham

Priyarshan’s historical period drama is about exploits of Kunjali Marakkar IV, a 16th-century naval chieftain of Zamorin of Calicut. re were three Marakkars before him, who played a key role in ir naval wars with Portuguese from 1507 to 1600. y are said to have organised first naval defence of Indian coast.

Reportedly movie is me on a budget of ₹100 crores and is said to be most expensive Malayalam film till date. With quite an ensemble of actors led by Mohanlal, cast also includes Arjun, Manju Warrier, Sudeep, Suniel Shetty and Keerthy Suresh. Reportedly,  Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyarshan will make a cameo appearance in movie. film is scheduled to release in over 5000 screens worldwide on 26 March.

Kurup

Sreenath Rajendran whose debut was Second Show starring n-newcomer Dulquer Salmaan is yet again teaming up with actor in Kurup. film is based on one of Kerala's torious fugitives Sukumara Kurup. Kurup is said to have burnt a man inside a car to fake his own death to get an insurance amount. Though his co-accused have been serving life imprisonment, criminal is still untraceable and case remains one of long-standing open cases in history of state. Dulquer Salmaan plays titular role, supported by Indrajith Sukumaran and Shine Tom Chacko. movie is expected to release by mid of 2020.

Bilal

When Amal Neer first anunced project in 2017, this development was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from audience on social media. Almost all young Malayalam actors shared news on ir social accounts, about second coming of Bilal. Neer called it a prequel to his cult action thriller Big B, starring Mammootty, which also marked his directorial debut. Big B wasn’t a box office success, like most films ahe of ir times, it proved to be a slow burner. Besides becoming a cult favourite, it is w considered one of most technically superior films of our times. While Big B centred around Mary Teacher’s murder and how her four opted sons come toger to unravel mystery and find culprits, its prequel will apparently dwell on Bilal’s past. re are rumours about Fahh Faasil and Sreenath Bhasi being part of project. Or members of cast have t been anunced. movie is expected to release towards end of 2020.
