Inside Edge 2: Farhan Akhtar announces release date, shares new poster

Inside Edge is one of the few TV series that have received a lot of praise by the critics as well as viewers for a strong storyline. The story is based on a fictional T-20 cricket team and showcases the impact of commercialisation of sports and games. The series has been also nominated for the 46th International Emmy Awards. It is created by Karan Anshuman and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel entertainment. It features Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Angad Bedi, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Tanuj Virvani in the first season. There has been a popular demand from fans for its second season for a long time and after receiving good word of mouth and success, the makers of the TV series decided to renew it for a second season.

Recently, Farhan Akhtar took to his Twitter handle and announced that the second season of Inside Edge will be released on December 6, 2019. The series will be aired on Amazon Prime. Inside Edge was the first series by Amazon Prime in India that got released in the year 2017. Farhan has also shared the motion poster of the series that has garnered a lot of love from fans. The news is a great surprise for all the viewers of the series.

Farhan Akhtar was last seen in the drama film The Sky Is Pink opposite Priyanka Chopra. The film is directed by Shonali Bose. It received critical acclaim and opened to positive reviews. It was also premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival where it received a standing ovation by the audience. The actor is now shooting for his upcoming sports drama film Toofan that is being directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film is written by Anjum Rajabali and produced under the banner of Excel Entertainment. Farhan will be portraying the role of a boxer in the movie. The project is the second collaboration between Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra after their successful 2013 sports biography film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag that is based on the life of athlete Milkha Singh.
