Fernando Perez Algaba: Missing millionaire crypto influencer found chopped up in suitcase

The Buenos Aires Police has launched a murder investigation after they found the dismembered remains of a missing millionaire and Crypto influencer, Fernando Pérez Algaba. The Crypto tycoon had been missing for a week.  According to The New York Post, the body of the influencer was discovered by a group of children in Argentina.

The police were called after the children found a red suitcase with Algaba’s body parts while they were playing by a stream in the town of Ingeniero Budge, a province in the Argentine capital.

After witnessing the horrific site, the children’s parents notified the Buenos Aires police, who inspected the suitcase and reportedly found legs and a forearm inside. They went on to discover another whole arm in the stream. As per the reports, the police told the local reporters that the body parts were cleanly amputated suggesting the work of a professional. The subsequent autopsy revealed that the victim had been shot three times before dismemberment.

One suspect arrested

According to The New York Post, police have arrested one suspect in connection with  Algaba’s death. While the motive of the murder remains unclear, the authorities stated that the influencer was killed due to his mounting debt. As per the report by the American news outlet, the businessman who lived in Barcelona, Spain has accumulated millions renting luxury vehicles and selling cryptocurrency. The crypto influencer reportedly rented an apartment in Argentina and was supposed to return the key to the apartment by 19 July. However, the property owner notified the authorities after Algaba failed to show up with the keys.

Algaba had a true blue rags-to-riches story as he started working at the age of 14. He later started selling high-end cars, motorcycles and jet skis by the time he was 24. Algaba subsequently founded a luxury car and jet ski rental firm in Miami before he moved to Barcelona. During his final years, Algaba was involved in trading cryptocurrency from an office in Buenos Aires, heading over 25 employees.
