UN chief has extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and said that the United Nations stands in solidarity with the French authorities

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned recent knife attack at a Church in French city of Nice. As per reports, heius attack left three people de at tre Dame basilica in Nice; one of victims was beheed by attacker who was later apprehended by police. French Authorities are considering this latest attack to be an act of terrorism.

UN Chief expresses solidarity with France

As per UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric,  UN chief has extended his deepest condolences to families of victims and said that United Nations stands in solidarity with French Government during this trying time. devastating attack in Nice was followed by ar attempted attack in France’s souastern city of Avign and a similar knife attack at French Consulate in Saudi Arabia.

This latest attack in Nice follows gruesome attack on a history teacher in France who was beheed by a ricalised teen for showing caricatures of Prophet Mohammed in class. Following teacher’s death, French President Emmanuel Macron came out to defend freedom of speech in country which furr angered millions of Muslims around world.

Turkish President Erdogan responded to Marcon comments with ‘rude’ remarks, including suggestions that French President required mental health treatment. Iran’s supreme leer Ayatollah Khamenei also reacted to Macron’s comments and stated that his defence of caricatures was a ‘stupid act’.

Following attack in Nice, re has been an outpouring of support for France from world leers. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, in a tweet, stated that attack in Nice was ‘barbaric’ and that he was appalled at hearing news. Pope Francis also reacted to attack and send his thought and prayers to victims and ir families.
