French President Emmanuel Macron has anunced on March 16 that nation will ban all public garings and social contact in order to contain spre of dely Coronavirus outbreak. As per international news reports, he said country will be placed on lockdown that will be effective from midday on Tuesday for at least next 15 days. Macron ded that this is first time in history France h to take such exceptional measures.

Macron asked citizens to avoid leaving ir homes at all, except for essential duties.

He asked citizens to avoid leaving ir houses, and to work from home if it was possible. He also asked citizens to avoid public transport as much as y could.

Macron ded that stringent measures have been taken in order to contain spre of COVID-19 and limit furr contamination. He furr ded that any violation of this would be punished.

Macron also called off second phase of municipal elections.

"n-essential" public places closed

According to reports, only trips to supermarkets, pharmacies, and places of work will be allowed and all workers have been vised to work from home where possible. This is Macron's second public dress in recent days as earlier he h anunced closures of schools and universities.

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe h earlier anunced, on Saturday, that in light of acceleration of spre of Coronavirus, France will shut down all restaurants, cafes, cinemas, and n-essential retail shops. He also said that grocery stores, and all or essential public services would continue to remain open.

French Prime Minister also vised all French citizens to remain at home as much as possible to aid in curtailing spre of COVID-19.

France has reported over 5400 cases of Coronavirus as of Monday, and death toll has reached 127.
