France goes into lockdown due to Coronavirus, to shut all non essential retail shops
France will shut down all restaurants, cafes, cinemas, & non-essential retail shops. Grocery stores, and all other essential public services will remain open

French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has anunced that in light of acceleration of spre of Coronavirus, France will shut down all restaurants, cafes, cinemas, and n-essential retail shops. He also said that grocery stores, and all or essential public services would continue to remain open.
French Prime Minister also vised all French citizens to remain at home as much as possible too aid in curtailing spre of COVID-19.

French authorities h earlier alrey shut down schools, and banned garings of more than 100 people, while vising people to limit ir social life, and asking people over 70 years of to stay at home. However, according to French Prime Minister, se measures were t ‘well-implemented’.

Philippe me anuncement at a press conference after French public health authorities h alrey anunced that almost 4,500 were w infected with Coronavirus. Authorities also anunced that dely virus h claimed 91 lives.

Municipal Elections to go on as planned
Philippe, however, confirmed that nation-wide municipal elections will go ahe as planned on Sunday, as per French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision last week. French President h said municipal elections were vital for continual functioning of democratic system. His anuncement was met with criticism, and concerns over possibility of people getting infected while at polling stations.
Philippe said that special measures would be put in place to keep people at a safe distance and clean shared material to limit chances of people being infected.
