French carmaker to evacuate expats from virus-hit Chinese city

The French carmaker PSA, that is also the second-largest in all of Europe has recently decided that it would repatriate all its expat staff from Wuhan.

French carmaker PSA, that is also second-largest in all of Europe has recently decided that it would repatriate all its ex-pat staff from Chinese city of Wuhan. Wuhan is believed to be epicentre of new Chinese Coronavirus that is sweeping across China and has alrey spre to numerous or nations.

Fears after virus confirmed in France

French carmaker that manufactures cars for its brands, Peugeot and Citroen said that a total of its 38 staff members and ir family members were being evacuated from in and around Wuhan region with full cooperation of Chinese Authorities. company in a statement claimes that staff members and ir families would first be quarantined to ensure that ne of m contained virus and n allowed to return to ir countries of origin.

Three cases of virus have alrey been confirmed in France. French Health Minister Agnes Buzyn on Friday anunced first confirmed case of new virus in Europe.

US begins evacuating citizens and diplomats

Amid dely coronavirus outbreak, United States government is reportedly w sending a charter flight to Chinese city of Wuhan in an effort to evacuate its citizens and diplomats. According to international media reports, plane, with approximately 230 people, will carry diplomats from US consulates as well as US citizens and ir families. Following negotiations in recent days, US was also given approval for operation from China's Foreign Ministry and or government ncies.

Honk Kong on January 25 also declared virus as an emergency and furr upgred Hong Kong Disease contingency plan from 'serious' to 'emergency' level. Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam while dressing a press conference furr anunced that schools in city to be suspended until February 17. According to reports, flights are also being stopped across China to try and limit spre of virus
