G20 Dinner: International delegates embrace Indian attire, Japan First Lady dons a saree

From IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's wife Yuko Kishida, several top foreign dignitaries got dressed in tritional  Indian ensembles for official dinner at G-20 Dinner hosted by President Droupi Murmu on Saturday night. 

All of foreign delegates were dressed to nines for significant event. Many people choose to opt Indian fashion in unique ways. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter,  President Droupi Murmu wrote, " It was a pleasure to host Hes of delegations of G20 nations, Guest countries and International Organisations at magnificent Bharat Mandapam for G20 Summit Gala Dinner."

In continued tweet thre, she ded, " Experiencing our time-honoured trition of Atithi Devo Bhava, I am sure that our distinguished guests are enjoying best of Indian culture, cuisine and hospitality during ir stay with us, as we work toger for a better future." With tweet, President Murmu also shared pictures of her being ed with foreign delegates in front of a Konark wheel replica. 

Foreign delegates wear Tritional at G20 dinner 

Here are glimpses of delegates wearing tritional clos at G20 Summit dinner. 

• IMF Chief Georgieva wore a purple ethnic suit that she paired with a golden dupatta at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi for G-20 Dinner

• Japanese PM Fumio Kishida's wife Yuko Kishida wore a beautiful green saree. She looked exquisite in Indian wear.  She complemented her outfit with a pink blouse.

• South African President Cyril Ramaphosa's wife Tshepo Motsepe was wearing an Indo-western outfit. She tied her hair in a bun and accessorised it with a gajra.

• Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar came for dinner in a black bandhgala suit. His wife Kobita Jugnauth looked gorgeous in a saree.

• Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Banglesh, exuded ethnic charm in a saree teamed with a pearl necklace.

• UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murty also ded a tritional touch to her modern outfit.

Before start of dinner, President Droupi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed world leers at a dias, set against a backdrop depicting ruins of Nalanda University in Bihar and India's G20 presidency me -- 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - 'One Earth, One Family, One Future.' 

Meanwhile, PM Modi was wearing a white kurta with churidar. He elevated his look with a blue V-neck striped jacket. President Murmu donned a tritional beige colour saree with a contrasting turquoise border. Prior to dinner, PM Modi met world leers at inaugural session of two-day G20 Summit.
