G20: Following the Summit, Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak, and other leaders to fly home

Twenty Heads of State, including US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, are to depart from New Delhi on Sunday, September 10.

Twenty Hes of State, including US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, are to depart from New Delhi on Sunday, September 10. leers would be going back to ir respective countries after attending G20 Summit at New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam.  

In two sessions, 'One Earth and One Family,' leers of 20 countries have reached a consensus on inclusion of African Union as a G20 Member. Furr, y have also brought G20 members to a consensus on Russia-Ukraine war issue.

Last Day of G20 Summit 

After G20 Summit concludes, Centre has allotted responsibilities to Union Ministers of States to see off foreign delegates after summit, as per sources. A directive in this regard was issued by foreign secretary. Hes of State of countries including UAE, US, Banglesh, Egypt, China, Australia, UK, Argentina, Indonesia, France, Germany, Nerlands, Turkey, Japan, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Republic of Korea, Cana and Singapore are scheduled to depart on Sunday, from Delhi, said sources.  

Who is leaving when?

  • US President Joe Biden’s departure from India is scheduled at around 10.20 a.m., and MoS Rajeev Chandrashekhar will see him off.
  • UK PM Rishi Sunak will depart from Delhi at 2.15 pm, where MOS Kailash Chaudhari will see him off. 
  • Banglesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will depart from Delhi at around 10.30 a.m., and MoS Anupriya Patel will see her off. 

Apart from 20 hes of state, seven G20 leers of countries including Brazil, African Union (represented by Comoros), Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, European Union and Mauritius would also be heing to ir respective countries. Notably, during day one of G20 Summit, US President Biden emphasised importance of India-Middle East-Europe Corridor.

President Biden said that United States would work with its partners to invest in building sustainable, resilient infrastructure, and making quality infrastructure investments. He was dressing Partnership for Global Infrastructure Investment (PGII) and India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor programme at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi.

"This is a real big deal. I want to thank PM. "One Earth, One Family, One Future," that's focus of this G20 Summit. And in many ways, it's also focus of this partnership that we're talking about today,” said Biden. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a meeting with British counterpart Rishi Sunak on sidelines of summit on Saturday and discussed ways to deepen tre linkages and boost investment.
