Madagascar has decided to issue a postal stamp which will have the picture of India's Mahatma Gandhi in order to celebrate his 150th birth anniversary.

East African island country has a table Indian diaspora from city in Gujarat where Gandhi was born, Porbandar. Indian diaspora over re is called Karanas. Karanas arrived in Magascar somewhere in 19th century and y still play a major role in ecomy of country. y have close ties with Gujarat and y speak Gujarati in ir homes. major cities of country celebrate Indian festivals with full enthusiasm. Magascar issued a postal stamp on Gandhi in year 1998 as well.

Indian Ambassor to Magascar Abhay Kumar posted a picture of new stamps on his official Twitter handle on Gandhi Jayanti. Along with im, he wrote a caption anuncing that Island country is set to issue a postal stamp to mark 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He ded hashtags #GandhiJayanti, #MahatmaGandhi, and #Magascar along with picture. Or verified Twitter handles have also retweeted pictures of new postal stamps of Magascar. He recently inaugurated restored plaque of Mahatma Gandhi ro in Antananarivo alongside Mayor of Antananarivo Mrs. Lalao Ravelomanana ahe of Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary.

French postal company 'La Poste' paid a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi while marking his birth anniversary on October 2 by releasing special stamps. Indian Embassy collaborated with company to launch se stamps with Gandhi's im on m. official Twitter handle of Indian Embassy in France posted pictures of stamps on Wednesday.
