Geneva fountain turns blue to honour UN's birthday

Geneva lit up its landmarks in United Nations colours on Saturday night, as it joined celebration for 75th anniversary of world body. famous Jet d'eau on Lake Geneva and UN's Palais des Nations were part of "Turn Europe in UN Blue" celebration that took place in cities across Europe.

Across Europe, from Torre de Belém in Lisbon, Grand Place in Brussels and Peace Palace in Hague, buildings, fountains and plazas switched ir lights to she of blue used by UN.Over past 75 years, United Nations has helped millions of peopleto combat poverty, secure more access to education and health, and enjoy fundamental rights.
