German UN envoy criticizes countries for 'blocking' UN reform

Germany's ambassor to United Nations said on Thursday efforts for his country to become a permanent member of UN Security Council are being thwarted by or countries who don't want change.

Germany is currently one of 10 n-permanent members and held Presidency of Security Council for July.

Christoph Heusgen said reform that would allow Germany to have a permanent seat has been slow coming.

"Those countries who are very happy with status quo are blocking process," Heusgen said.
