Google plans to invest 3bn Euros in Europe, expanding data centres

Google is planning to invest 3 billion Euros in Europe Copenhagen to expand its data centres across the continent in the next two years, revealed Sundar Pichai.

Google is planning to invest three billion Euros in Europe Copenhn to expand its data centres across continent in next two years, revealed Google CEO Sundar Picha on Friday. Pichai furr said that it will bring company's total investments in continent's internet infrastructure to 15 billion euros since 2007. This decision was me after a meeting with Finnish Prime Minister Antii Rinne on Friday.

Meeting with Finnish PM

top boss of Google during meeting with  Finnish Prime Minister, Antii Rinne on Friday in Helsinki said that investments will support 13,000 full-time jobs in European Union every year. He furr stated that Google is investing heavily in renewable energy as an initiative anunced ahe of global rallies calling for action to guard against climate change. Employees from Google and or big US tech companies like Amazon and Microsoft have planned to participate in global climate strike on Friday.

Global Climate Strike 

According to Global Climate Strike, people from over 150 countries are stepping up to support young climate strikers and demand an end to of fossil fuels. strike commenced on September 20 and will end on September 27. It is a result of urgency of climate crisis.

Google project

According to Pichai, Google project will include construction of more than 1 billion euros in new energy infrastructure in European Union (EU). Along with this, a new offshore wind project will be launched in Belgium. Furr, it will include five solar energy projects in Denmark and two wind energy projects in each Sweden and Finland. re are also projects in US and South America, stated reports. According to Pichai, once se projects come online, Google's carbon-free energy portfolio will produce more electricity than places like Washington DC or or countries like Lithuania or Uruguay use each year.
