'Grave Situation' says Chinese President Xi Jinping amid coronavirus dread

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday called the accelerating spread of the newly spread coronavirus a ‘grave situation.’ Coronavirus has killed 56 people.

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday called accelerating spre of newly spre coronavirus a ‘grave situation.’ remark came after officials across China failed to contain dely viral infection which has spre from its epicentre Wuhan to cities like Shanghai and Hong kong killing 56 people.

Cancelled festivities

President Jinping me remarks while speaking at a meeting of communist party leers convened on Lunar New Year, Chinese State Brocaster reported. Meanwhile, celebrations of country’s biggest holiday have been cancelled throughout Chinese mainland amid pandemic. This has also underlined government’s urgent need to control outbreak. Travel ncies have told been to halt all group tours, English Langu Chinese daily citing China Association of Travel services reported.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, speaking at meeting of elite Politburo Standing Committee on Saturday said that his country can win battle against virus epidemic that has infected over 1,200 people across country. This is his second public comment on coronavirus crisis that has till w claimed 41 lives in China.

Chinese President said that as long as y work toger, have stefast confidence, scientific prevention and cures and precise policies, y will definitely be able to win battle, Chinese state media reported.  statement comes after Hong Kong on January 25 declared virus as an 'emergency' and furr upgred Hong Kong Disease contingency plan form 'serious' to 'emergency' level. Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam while dressing a press conference also anunced that schools in city have been suspended until February 17.
