Greek PM: don't jeopardise lockdown success

Greeks marked Easter in lockdown this year unable to celebrate with friends and family, as the country's lockdown to limit the spread of the new coronavirus continued.

Greeks marked Easter in lockdown this year unable to celebrate with friends and family, as country's lockdown to limit spre of new coronavirus continued.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday encourd Greek citizens "t to jeopardise" country's success and to continue following lockdown orders.

Greece's government imposed a lockdown early in country's outbreak and so far has mand to keep number of deaths low.

Measures include shuttering of churches for all of Holy Week and Easter, with religious services held behind closed doors.

So far, Greece has h 110 deaths caused by new virus, with 2,235 people infected, according to figures by Johns Hopkins University.

For most people, new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older ults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
