Hezbollah rally marks anniversary of Israeli withdrawal

Hezbollah supporters on Sunday marked the end of the recent Gaza fighting - and the 21st anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon - with a rally at the Lebanon/Israel border.

United Nations peacekeeping vehicles patrolled area as event took place.

Ali Fayy, a Lebanese lawmaker from Hezbollah bloc, likened conflict in Gaza to Lebanon's historic conflict with Israel, particularly cycles of "balance and deterrence".

Israeli troops pulled out of sourn Lebanon in 2000, after an 18-year occupation dating back to 1982 war.
