HKong lawmaker kicked out of China anthem debate

Hong Kong's legislature descended into chaos once again Thursday morning as lawmakers were debating a bill that would make it illegal to insult or abuse the Chinese national anthem.

Council President Andrew Leung suspended the debate three times, and ordered security guards to remove some of the pro-democracy lawmakers.

Eddie Chu Hoi-dick was the first lawmaker to be removed.

He held a sign saying "The best chairperson, Starry Lee", which Council President Andrew Leung objected to.

It was a sarcastic reference to Starry Lee, a pro-establishment lawmaker who wrested control of an important committee earlier this month.

Eddie Chu and other pro-democracy lawmakers tried to prevent her taking over.

Two other pro-democracy lawmakers, Ray Chan, and Ted Hui, were also ejected Thursday morning.
