Hong Kong Disneyland announces shutdown amid coronavirus outbreak

After Shanghai, now it is Hong Kong Disneyland which has announced a shutdown amid the growing concerns of the deadly coronavirus which has claimed 56 lives.

A step to ensure safety and health

anuncement came after city officials declared virus as an emergency on Saturday upgring  Hong Kong's disease contingency plan form 'serious' to 'emergency' level. Hong Kong's Chief Executive Carrie Lam,  while dressing a press conference also anunced that schools in city have been suspended until February 17.

According to media reports, park said that it was taking step to protect safety and health of ir guests and cast. It ded that reimbursement and refunds will be provided to people.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Disneyland in a statement, said that amusement park will remain closed this weekend until furr tice, international media reported. According to reports, park decided on closure in order to ensure health and safety of its guest and staff.

Amusement park officials said that that guests who have purchased tickets or booked a resort hotel will be reimbursed. y also said that y are carefully monitoring situation and are in close contact with local government, media reported. park will soon confirm reopening date.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, crowds gared for a tritional Lunar New Year temple ceremony and fortune-telling ritual in Hong Kong. Officials and nuns lit incense sticks inside Che Kung Temple, before taking part in annual ritual.
