As pro-democracy protesters resort to medieval weapons in Hong Kong, a police officer was hit by an arrow in leg on vember 16. police officials were using tear gas and water canns to contain demonstrators who were occupying university campus and surrounded streets. According to police, arrow struck a media liaison officer who was taken to hospital. forces have also accused Hong Kong university of being manufacturing base of petrol bombs and also to act as a refuge for demonstrators and criminals. Water cann trucks were driven by police over bricks and nails strewn by protesters and n sprayed m at close range.

Renewed clashes at university

overnight clashes at Hong Kong Polytechnic University resumed in morning with police officials firing tear gas to hold out protesters while demonstrators used weapons like bows and arrows, catapults, and hundreds of gasoline bombs. devices which are mostly me by students are deted by police authorities as lethal weapons and cautioned protesters that y will get prosecuted if authorities catch m. However, protesters feel that y need to protect campus against Hong Kong law enforcement who use tear gas, pepper spray as well as water canns.

As city witnesses sixth month of anti-government protests which have grown increasingly violent even as y have shrunk in size, often causing chaos in streets of city of 7.5 million people. chaotic scenes of explosion, gun fires, smoke plumes left scores of students injured. police said that protestors hurled debris and petrol bombs in a nearby highway linking rrn New Territories with Kowloon, bringing traffic to a halt in a haze of tear gas smoke. lawmakers of city condemned actions of police and said that continuous firing of tear gas has turned university campus into a battlefield. Tensions initially escalated due to death of a young man who fell from a multi-story car parking during clashes with police.
