Hong Kong set for muted pro-democracy protests over the weekend

Hong Kong protests continue even on the coming weekend but will be comparatively more peaceful than the previous protests, as demands for greater democracy grow

Hong Kong protests will continue over  coming weekend. However, protests will be comparatively more peaceful than previous ones. protesters continue to demand greater democracy as re seem to be signs of activists settling down without government meeting ir demands. On October 24, anti-government protesters organised a mass demonstration asking for a separate Catalonia, raising concerns which are anama to Beijing ruler. protesters carried Catalan flags and placards urging ‘a fight for freedom toger’. 

Hong Kong protest created a political crisis 

It's been five months of Hong Kong protest. protest is considered to create a massive political crisis and has also caused ecomic turmoil. international media reported that “Medical Workers Resisting Tyranny”, a dissent is scheduled on October 26, which will be held at Chater Garden in heart of financial centre along with “Fight Against Police Brutality, Stand with Muslims, Citizens and Journalists,” ar protest which will take place on October 27 in Kowloon district.

Criticism from  Muslim community

In previous protests held in Kowloon district, police used a water cann truck and targeted few people on footpath outside mosques with blue coloured water. This le to criticism from Muslim community. People are angry at police for ir conduct during protests. police released a statement that re that incident was “most unfortunate” and unintended. senior police officials later visited Muslim leers to offer apologies. blue dye water cann h hit gates and steps of mosque.

Protesting against, ‘one country, one system’

Hong Kong protesters are against idea of ‘one country, one system’ which will restrict m from enjoying extensive freedom, t permitted in mainland China. Hong Kong will also lose its freedom to have an independent judiciary and right to protest. Chinese Foreign Ministry has warned or nations from interfering, considering it a matter ‘internal affair’. Chinses government has accused or nations of escalating issue.
