The ‘Howdy, Modi’ phenomena has taken the United States of America by storm, and a video published by the Texas India Forum on Twitter on September 19, shows just that. The video begins with a girl from Michigan saying that she will be going to Houston, Texas for the ‘Howdy Modi’ event where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to give a speech. It ends with her friends joining in and shouting ‘Howdy Modi’ with a sense of excitement.
A Howdy for PM Modi
The official Twitter handle of Houston City led by its Mayor Sylvester Turner posted a warm welcome for all the visitors with regards to Texas India Forum's 'Howdy, Modi' event.
Over 50,000 people have already registered
A history-making audience of over 50,000 people have already registered for the event to be held at the sprawling NRG Stadium on September 22, the organizers said. The crowd turnout is expected to be the largest for any Indian Prime Minister and the largest for a democratically elected foreign leader in America. The event will showcase the strength and clout of the Indian-American community, dubbed by policymakers as the as "model" immigrants, highly educated and successful community in the US, the organizers said.
This will be PM Modi's third major address to the Indian-American community after he became the Prime Minister in 2014 and the first after his re-election in May. The previous two were at the Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014 and the Silicon Valley in 2016. Both the events were attended by more than 20,000 people
