“Do not call for black power or green power. Call for brain power.” You have heard this quote multiple times, but a viral video is showing real meaning of it. A video of a veterinarian using an Apple Watch in a way that no one has imagined is making rounds on internet. In this video, veterinarian is seen using an Apple Watch to measure pulse rate of king of jungle, a lion.

video was shared on Instagram by Dr Chloe Buiting and shows a lion snoring with its tongue out and an Apple Watch strapped on it. watch was showing data on pulse rate and or things on screen. Dr Chloe in caption wrote, “I don’t know what’s more impressive… snore, or discovery that @apple Watch can measure a lions heart rate if you strap it to tongue (even if it is one of less conventional “off-label” uses for device). Eir way, it’s a true ‘technology meets conservation’ story.”

In later part of caption, she also said how team got idea.

“This finding is particularly handy because one of biggest challenges of working with animals in field is monitoring of anaessia without many of regular bells and whistles you’d have in a hospital setting. In dition to this, many of monitoring devices are often designed for smaller animals, making it extra challenging to get accurate reings from our bigger, spikey or scaled wildlife patients.

So, when my colleague @fabiola_wildspirit and Dr Brendan Tindall found this trick recently, it was a game changer! It even works on elephants (when taped to ir ears which is a sight in itself 😂) and is ultimate “work smarter not harder” in my book. It was a pleasure to be in field with Dr Fabiola this month - first of many times I hope.”

viral video has garnered more than 50 lakhs with over 1 lakh likes. And people in comment section shared ir views on it.
