India and China armies have disengaged at most locations, Chinese Foreign Ministry reveals

Maintaining that India and China h engd in comprehensive talks via diplomatic and military channels, it stated that tensions h considerably eased. It ded that two nations were preparing for 5th round of commander-level talks. Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed hope that Indian and Chinese sides would jointly maintain peace and tranquility. On July 26, Indian Army sources h indicated complete disengment at Patrolling Point 14, 15, and 17A.
Chinese Foreign Ministry stated, "Recently, India and China have conducted intensive communication through military and diplomatic channels, and have held four rounds of commander-level talks and three border affairs consultations and meetings under coordination mechanism. Frontline border forces of two countries have disengd in most locations, and current situation has considerably improved with eased tensions. At present, China and India are actively preparing for fifth round of commander-level talks to handle and resolve remaining problems on ground. We hope that Indian side and China will meet each or halfway, implement consensus reached by both sides, and jointly maintain peace and tranquility in border area."

LAC faceoff
20 Indian Army soldiers including a Commanding Officer were martyred when a violent faceoff took place on June 15 when de-escalation process was underway in Galwan Valley. As per Editor-in-Chief of Chinese newspaper Global Times, Chinese side also suffered casualties during physical clash. Both sides have held multiple rounds of diplomatic and military level meetings to resolve situation. After visit of PM Modi to Lakh, re has been a lot of progress on disengment at LAC.
17th meeting of Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination on India-China Border Affairs (WMCC) was held on July 24. While Indian delegation was led by Ministry of External Affairs' Joint Secretary (East Asia), Director-General of Boundary and Oceanic Department of Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs represented or side. During meeting, both sides reviewed situation in India-China border areas and ongoing disengment process along LAC. two nations recalled that disengment process was in accordance with agreement reached during telephonic conversation of Special Representatives on July 5, 2020.
