India warns Taliban on terror; read full statement following meeting in Qatar's Doha here

In the meeting that took place at the request of the Taliban, the issue of safety, security & fast evacuation of Indians in Afghanistan was raised by India.

In a massive development, India on Tuesday held a meeting with new rulers of Afghanistan for first time. In meeting that took place in Doha, Indian Ambassor to Qatar, Deepak Mittal, met Sher Mohamm Abbas Stanekzai, he of Taliban’s Political Office in Doha at Embassy of India, Doha. meeting took place at request of Taliban.

Evacuation

This was first official meeting between India and Taliban, after fall of Kabul. In meeting,  Indian Ambassor to Qatar, Deepak Mittal highlighted need for safety and security of Indians, and pushed for early return of those nationals stranded in Afghanistan.  travel of Afghan nationals, especially mirities, who wish to visit to India also came up during meeting.

'Afghanistan soil should t be used for anti-Indian, terrorist activities'

Besides, Indian Ambassor Deepak Mittal also warned against Taliban using Afghan's soil for anti-Indian activities and terrorism in any manner.

Having heard points laid by  Indian Ambassor to Qatar, Deepak Mittal, Sher Mohamm Abbas Stanekzai, he of Taliban’s Political Office assured that issues would be dressed 'positively'.

PM Modi forms Afghanistan group

meeting comes on very same day Prime Minister Narendra Modi instructed officials to form an Afghanistan group that will include External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar and National Security visor of India (NSA) Ajit Doval. Some officials of concerned Ministries are also to be a part of Afghanistan group. 

Sources have informed that group has been meeting regularly over last few days and discussed pertaining to safe return of stranded Indians, travel of Afghans (especially mirities) to India. In dition, it also discussed issues related to ground situation in Afghanistan and international reactions, including Resolution passed this morning by UN Security Council, demanding that  Afghan territory 't be used to threaten or attack any country or to shelter or train terrorists.'

Over 13 countries voted in favour of resolution except for China and Russia. resolution was proposed by NATO allies US, UK and France after ir withdrew ir troops from Afghanistan. three countries asserted that Taliban should stick to its assurances and allow a safe pass for Afghans and foreigners who want to leave country.
